Help me decorate my nursery!!!
Ok, so here is my predicament: DD and DS have to share a room, and I can't paint the walls or anything. I want their room to have a theme. I have some ideas on how to do this, but I can't decide. I haven't really found like the PERFECT set that makes me jump. I don't even think that set is available.
What I ultimately wanted: DISNEY!!! For the whole room. Upside: I have 30 or so Disney lithographs that my mom got for pre-ordering Disney DVD releases at the Disney Store. She did this for years, and then sent me all the lithographs when I had my son. I have everything from Lion King to Jungle Book to Lilo & Stitch, etc. Downside: I got a mobile at my baby shower that won't match the theme. Link to mobile I have: Walmart.com: Fisher Price - Rainforest Musical Mobile: Bedding & Decor My other problem is that all I can find is Pooh stuff or Princess stuff for baby girl bedding. I wanted baby Mickey and Minnie. I'm going to check ebay soon, but so far, my efforts have been unsuccessful. I would do DS's bed in Toy Story or something fun that is Disney. So, yeah, it won't exactly match, but it will have a theme. Other idea: Jungle Theme Separate: Basically for this, I would find girly jungle stuff for the crib and maybe buy Go Diego Go toddler bedding for DS. These are the sets I have in mind: Bed Bath & Beyond - Go Diego Go Extreme Animal Adventure 4-Piece Toddler Bed Set by Baby Boom and for the crib Jungle Luv - Lambs & Ivy Bedtime - Babies "R" Us Upside: DD's stuff will be really girly and DS's stuff will be very boyish, and it will kind of have a theme. Downside: Definitely doesn't match, and the mobile will not match DD's stuff AGAIN Last idea: Jungle Theme Same: Basically, I would go off of the idea of the mobile I have. For the crib I picked Walmart.com: Fisher Price - Rain Forest 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set: Bedding & Decor and for the toddler bed Walmart.com: Fisher Price - Rainforest 4-Piece Toddler Bedding Set: Kids' & Teen Rooms Upside: IT MATCHES!!!! And the mobile matches. Downside: Crib bedding not girly at all. Now, there is another set by Fisher Price that looks every so slightly more feminine Walmart.com: Fisher Price - Precious Planet 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set: Bedding & Decor BUT it doesn't match the toddler bedding I picked out as well as the other set does. Which idea should I go with? I'm open to other suggestions as well. HELP ME! Oh and price is somewhat a restraint here. I don't want to spend more than $200 on bedding for both. Originally, I wanted to do DS's toddler bed in camo instead of the Go Diego Go stuff, but all the sets I found that are nice are upwards of $150. DUMB. Thanks for your help. I mean, DH isn't really being super helpful here mainly because I think he is tired of me changing my mind haha. |

I am no help at all really but I can show you what I have chosen for my crib bedding!
Amazon.com: Mickey's Transportation 4 Piece Baby Crib Bedding Set by Disney Baby: Home & Garden if I do have a girl I am just gonna figure a way to girl it up with like maybe some minnie stickers for the wall. I love the disney idea since I am a disney freak but I am not big into the winnie the pooh scene either... |

I agree with going with a color pallet theme. You can always frame the disney lithographs and put them on the walls, but I think that is where I would stop with the disney theme. This way you can find both girly bedding and boyish bedding for your kids, but they can fall under the same color theme so it will feel cohesive while still being very obvious that the crib belongs to a baby girl and the toddler bed to a boy.
