Sex Question ... TMI included
My husband just got back from NTC last week. His unit is letting him stay for 10 days after DD's birth, but after that he is off to Iraq. (She is due in December.) Definitely will not be having any sexy time after she arrives. That will hurt just too much. Well, Saturday we had some fun; but afterward I felt TERRIBLE. Hard contractions that really hurt. Heck, they were even 4 minutes apart. It went on for an hour. I was so afraid I was going into labor. Finally, I took a bath; and they calmed down. Well, I hadn't wanted to do anything since because I thought maybe I had irritated my cervix or something. Well, I felt bad for holding out on DH, especially since we have so little of time together. This morning we had some fun again, and I'm in so much pain. I can hardly walk. My lower back has a dull ache pain. I feel like I am having really strong contractions, but my belly isn't getting super hard. I'm here at home by myself because DH is at work now. I can't even get up to follow my 15 month old around. I mean, I told him to be gentle; and he was but oh my gosh I feel awful. I don't think I have any bleeding or leaking. Is this seriously how it's going to be until I have her? It makes me not even want to do anything because I hurt so badly afterward. I didn't have this problem with my first pregnancy. When I stand up, I feel like BAD contractions have hit. I tried peeing several times. It didn't help. Not to mention, on top of all this, I have been VERY VERY tired the past few days and kinda short of breath. Is this something I should call the doctor about right now? I mean, I feel like it will eventually stop again, and like i said, my belly gets hard but not super hard like it did the last time we had some fun. Sorry for the TMI.

I'm just a few days ahead of you and I get the same thing. Last time we had fun time I lost some of my plug. So we aren't doing it again until it's to get this baby out. If I were you I would go on pelvic rest. Not bed rest, just no sex. You can always satisfy him without having sex.
If your pain is really bad, you should call your Dr. Good luck |

Drink water and put your feet up when you start feeling pain... It could be that your really suseptible (totally misspelled that!).. to the BH.. Which CAN be VERY strong! I had them with my first.. strong enough that they would moniter me and admit me to the hospital... (5 times!)...
If you still want to "you know" with your DH... just try to have gentle passionate... not rough at all.. that could help some... You can also have him not "go" inside of you.... Whens your next DR appt? I would ask while your there also.

My next appointment is the 16th. I'll talk to my OB about it then.
The not "going" inside me thing might help. I didn't think about that. Thanks, ladies. I appreciate it. I just didn't want this baby coming before she is ready. As bad as it sounds, though, I still wanted to be intimate with my husband because I want that time with him before he leaves. ARGH |

Why would you think it sounds bad to want to be intimate with your husband before he leaves? I think all of us feel the same on that. If vaginal intercourse hurts, there are other ways to be intimate. There is oral sex, you can give him manual pleasure with your hand, you can do anal, you can just make out with some heavy petting...
You don't have to have vaginal penetration to be intimate.

That's what my doctor said. Originally we weren't allowed to have sex (until 14 weeks) but now we can if DH wears a condom because my doctor doesn't want me having undue contractions.
