For those of you who went into labor (not induced or schedule C-section)
What made you think "this is it"? At what point you said "This is it we have to go to the hospital now"?

I'm just trying to stay home for as long as I can before heading to the Hospital but since this will be my first time in labor I'm afraid I'll get scared and run out the door right away. Any tips?

It hurt like hell. It got the point to the pain was so bad I couldn't walk or talk. With my first one I was quick to get to the hospital. The second time I waited a bit longer. It was nicer. This time I plan on waiting as long as possible.

when my contractions were about 4-5 min apart and then i knew it was time when my water broke lol

If you go to early they will just send you home and the later you go in the better chance you have at avoiding unnecessary procedures. I think five minutes apart for at least an hour is what they tell you though.

I never timed contractions, with ODS I was woken up suddenly in the night with pain, but my grandma was driving me to the hospital and wouldn't let us go till my waters broke. With YDS and DD it didn't matter what I did (sit, stand, laydown, walk, positioned my body different) it HURT and was really uncomfortable.

My husband MADE me go. LOL!! Otherwise, I would've stayed at home much longer...
I thought what I was experiencing was Braxton Hicks contractions.


His command gave him time off to go to the hospital. The integrity in him is what MADE me go to the hospital and not play hookie...

I was 3-4 cm when we got the L&D and was admitted. I then "freaked out" once they said I was staying....LOL!!!

Honestly.. I didn't know. I started throwing up and I thought I had the flu, so I went to L&D. They told me I was in labor and having contractions. I was at 4cm and had no idea.

With Sylas I went in when my water broke. Well more like an hour or so afterwards because I had to take a shower and shave before going My water broke at 0200. Checked in at 0400. Pitocin at 0800. Delivered at 1322.

With Ashlynn, small contractions started at 2330. I went downstairs to walk them off and unfortunately I was doubled over in a ball on the kitchen floor crying. I then tried to make it upstairs to get T. I had to crawl from kitchen to the middle of the stairs when I realized I couldn't hold out anymore. That was around 0030. Didn't leave the house till around 0130 because I didn't pack a hospital bag yet and she was delivered at 0206.

Anya water broke around 1300. Went in right away since I was new and had no clue. Had to get hooked up on pitocin and didn't have her till almost 0300 the next day.

Timmy water broke around 0800, made it to the hospital by 1000 since we had just pcs'd to NC and had him by around 1400.

Schy contractions started around 0100. Went to the hospital around 0600. Fully dilated upon arrival and had him around 0700.

Dh did the same thing, he made me go, I was not ready and wanted to wait as long as possible, they still sent me home but 5 hrs later i was back in there again.

I would not be typing on SOS that is for sure It hurt BAD! COuld not talk through contrax bent over in pain. 5-10 minutes apart and hurt like hell!!
