QUESTION
well what is the usual time of getting in to see your doctor once you take a home test? i found out saturday that i am pregnant
and i called monday and then said that i was probably too early to find out anything . but i had a miscarriage last year and i want to make sure that everything is ok!!! so they said that they would do a blood test to find out if i am definatly and to find out about how far along i am and to make sure my hormone levels are good. i am nervous !!! i hope that this baby makes it to term!!

My experience is they confirm you are pregnant and the they will see you between 9-12 weeks gestation. Congratulations!!!!!!!

They usually get you in right away to confirm it via a urine or blood test. And then they usually dont make another appt until around 8-10 weeks usually for your first regular appt.
Congrats |

I was also thinking that if you're really concerned, I'm sure that if you convey that to your doctor they really should let you come in, even if it's only to talk to them and answer any questions you have. I would just be a pain in the ass about it until I was seen. But I think Kaymara is right, they should at least do an initial test to confirm your pregnancy.
(wow, I used a lot of big words there. hehehe) |

I see so many people talk about getting thier pregnancies confirmed by a urine test and the funny thing about that is out of my 4 pregnancies the only 1 that was confirmed by a urine test was the 1 I lost. My other 3 they just took my word for it lol
Grats and good luck! They will have your first prenatal visit between 8 and 12 weeks

First off congrats on the pregnancy! I found out I was pregnant AT the doctor's office (had gone in to find out why me period had been messed up for 5 months and to switch back on my old bc pill). They took some blood after the urine test showed I was pregnant. The next day I got a call backSo my next appointment was based on how far along I approx was according to the hcg levels. That was at 8 weeks or so.

After I found out, I went in to medical, they had me do a urine test (I asked for a blood test cuz I thought that was standard for the dr to confirm the pregnancy, and they told me they don't do preggo blood tests there! *roll eyes). Then since my base medical didn't have an OB, I was set up with a referral for an OB out in town and given a perscription for prenatal vitamins so I could get them free through medical.
The OB in town didn't want to see me until I was 8weeks along-they told me that if anything went wrong before my first trimester was over then that there was nothing they could do about it due to the young gestational age-that if I was going to miscarry, I was going to miscarry regardless of what they did. Then at that 8 week appt, all they did was weigh me and take down a medical history, and do some "counselling" about what I should be doing as a preggo woman and they also did a blood test at that time. My appt where they actually did anything like a pap and listening for the heartbeat and stuff wasn't until I was 12weeks along. |
