I am a little over 20 weeks preggo... I have been having braxton hicks contractions for 2 weeks now. The doctors keep telling me it's ok as long as I don't have more than 10 a day. Well, I was also put on minimal activity... which I've been trying to limit activity. I try to sit mostly, but it's hard with me having another child to take care of. Yesterday I went to the beach, but made sure I spent the majority of the time sitting in the shade. I always drink tons of water. I woke up this morning in pain, and have been having contractions and just a hurting feeling in my back and lower abdomen. I called the doctor and they told me to do nothing... just to sit and drink fluids and eat things with potassium and if the pain got too bad, to go to the hospital. I hurt, but it's not unbearable... but I have a high pain tolerance, so I don't know what they mean by if the pain gets too bad. I also feel like my legs keep cramping up. It is really wierd feeling. The doctors are expecting me to deliver early... around 36 weeks... but now is WAY too early. I still feel the baby moving and stuff, and that was another thing the doctor said if I don't feel the baby move to go to the hospital. I do know that if I went into labor now, they could not give me any meds to stop it because of the baby's heart problem... I would deliver a very preemie baby. I hope this goes away... I've been laying down for the past few hours and my husband is going bonkers watching our daughter (he never watches her alone) but I don't want to get up and risk going into labor early. I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday. What do you all think?

Oh gosh, so if you go in there's nothing they can do to stop it? Still, I wouldn't want to risk it- I didn't even have contractions with my daughter until I went into labor, although I have heard that BH contractions get stronger with each pregnancy. Still, it's better to be safe, to at least maybe have an idea of what's going on.

If it were me I'd go to the ER.. It is a long time till Tuesday if this is early labor. It might ease your mind to be hooked up and monitered and if it is just bh then you can put your mind to ease a bit.. it's always better to be safe. ((hugs))
