I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so I figured here since he is post deployment now........
On DB last leave everytime he would twich a lot when he slpet or started to fall asleep. I thought one time he was going to hit me because he swang up his arm really fast but he ended up bringing it down slowly. I didnt think much of it due to the fact that he was deployed and was stressed and had seen a ton of horrible things of stuff. Well he isn't delpoyed anymore and I was talking to him on the phone with him last night. And we were talking about him coming home and everything. I was joking around with him about him twitching, and then he say "we have to talk.......apparently I have night terrors.......I guess I scream in my sleep now." I don't love him any less for having them. I just don't know what to do about them. Do I not mess with him at all when he is sleeping? Like not touch him or wake him up. Anything would help me.

That really stinks that he is having night terrors I'm sure once he gets back he could see someone at home about the night terrors think positive he will be ok! =)

I've got junk in my trunk. Like, really.

Yes, that.
I've dealt with night terrors personally, and honestly... they don't just go away without getting to the root of them. They may become less physically obvious, or less frequent... but night terrors can quickly become a sleep habit which is even harder to treat than the root of the terror itself. |

My DF has had these his whole career. The best way I deal with them is scoot as far away as I can and let it pass. Once it's passed I go right back to cuddling to help him calm down. He generally dosen't have them again the rest of the night. Unless I forget to re-cuddle him. It may not work for you but it works for me. I shower his sleeping face with kisses too. Then again, I can take a hit and if I get clipped or something I ignore it.
