looking back
so not sure where to put this so here it goes
As dh prepares to go on ANOTHER deployment (our third) I catch myself looking back on the past ones. While we were going through them they seemed to last forever, but looking back it feels like it was not that long that he was gone. Do you ever get this feeling?

I was just having that same conversation with my parents. DB is going for his second deployment (after having 5 months off) and while it's coming really soon, the actual deployment isn't so long. Like BrittanyJo said, time is on your side...they do end. It was hard to realize that the first go-around, and I think it will make this one much easier.

I completely feel the same way! Which is why going into our second deployment I wasn't as freaked out about it because I knew that in the end it would all have gone by in the blink of an eye. Time definitely flies by, even when you're not having fun.

I did after our first one. During it I felt like time just stopped dead in it's tracks, but looking back it seemed to fly. Hopefully I will feel like this again after this deployment, but as of right now I'm still convinced that time has officially stopped.

This is our first so I can't say if it'll fly, but when he did his AIT back last summer it flew and so far he's been gone almost 2 weeks and it's giong pretty fast. I hope this one goes fast for you.

DH's deployment felt like it lasted FOREVERRRR while it was going on and even though he just got back 3 months ago, I find myself forgetting that we ever went through one. It just doesn't feel like he was ever gone at all now that he's back and everything is perfect again.

It's like he never even went honestly. It is strange thinking he missed 9 months... 8 months of the pregnancy and 1 month of Molly's life because it just doesn't feel like he was gone THAT long. We made it through much much much more easily than most people and I feel lucky for that.
I'm not scared of the next one now. The next one should be just as easy ... except I'll have a toddler.. haha
