Is it normal?! - Post Deployment

So my honey just got back to where he is stationed... He had been in Iraq for seven months... This is my first deployment with him, so I am a little nervous anyways, because I dont know what to expect.

I am a worrier, its my nature and hes a LONG way away from me, so I didnt get to see him come in...

but he did call me to let me know he got in... which was nice, but then within two hours he was out running around and drinking... Is it normal for them to unwind like this?? I really dont know why I am so worried, but its just the nervousness of something happening... I shouldnt be this way...

Any advice on how to let go of worrying about him being out and in bars? Or do I have a legit case to be worried? I am sure others have went through this.... So maybe a little advice.

Normal. He has been in a place where his liberties are restricted and he can't just go out and have a drink. Let him celebrate making it home.

it sounds pretty normal, i haven't been through a deployment yet... will soon though. i wouldn't be too worried if he's out having fun after being gone for so long and not being able to do all those things.

normal. when i go to see DB when he gets home the only thing he's asked me to do is to have a cooler filled with cold beers waiting for him at the hotel.

Definitely normal. I usually stock up on alcohol before DH comes home that way he can drink but is home and not driving.

If I could pick my db up with a beer in my hand he would be ecstatic. I think it is very normal for him to be getting back to his normal life.

Okay, thanks ladies... I was just worried.

HAHA I think he did have his first drink on the plane...

Its not that I have a problem with alcohol, matter of fact, the stuff is amazing! But I didnt know really what to expect-- kinda threw me off... I just really want to show him that I am being supportive- good thing I didnt say anything...

So a bucket of cold ones when he gets home would be a good idea?!

Iraq is like Jail. YOUR STUCK! They have some freedom back and want to use it.
