You need to do whatever it takes to get your mind off the deployment, be it an extra hobby, working out, working more, volunteering...anything. That's the only advice I can really give.

Dream as if you'll live forever; live as if you'll die today

I had lot of unpleasant dreams in the early days of deployment 2. I can't think of anything I did to make them go away. They just sorta stopped. Maybe you could use a creative outlet to get your thoughts and feelings out. Painting? Writing? Music? Drawing? Have you tried guided meditation before bed to clear your mind? That may be a good option.

:: i'm sorry.. sometimes i found the only way i could sleep was with background noise. I don't really like waking up to the tv being on but sometimes it is the only way I could distract my thoughts long enough to sleep. It does get easier.

You are not overreacting but I do think you need to think positive and to find an outlet for your stress, if not you are going to drive yourself crazy with worry.
Working out (long runs, lifting weights ect) might help you with this, as it will wear your body out to the point that you sleep as well as give you something to work your frustration out on!

Working out makes sleep come a lot faster on mopey nights. Not to mention that he'll be pleasantly surprised about your bod when he gets home!
