Today DF has a meeting with the head Medic.
He has been falling out of a few runs, having trouble breathing, and yesterday during PT he fainted during a run and fell flat on his face. They had to rub snow on him to wake him up and the medic that listen to his breathing said that something is not right. He told him it might be all the sand he inhaled from Iraq, and that it happens a lot. I guess it tears apart your bronchi and gets stuck in your lungs if you inhale too much over a period of time. They also think he might be asthmatic. But, this ONLY happens when he runs. I just don't know what to do. The Medic he is seeing today is in charge of telling him whether he stays in the Army, or if he is getting discharged. I think DF called it "medvac". DF told me it is not looking good and that he most likely will get discharged. I have no idea what to do. I really hope this is not the case, but there doesn't seem to be much hope here. I just moved here, I have only been here about 4 weeks and DF has only been home for about 3 months and some of that was block leave, so he hasn't been doing well ever since he got back. If they discharge him we will have to live with family or something. We wont have any money. We have only been married about a month and a half, and we thought everything was in place. Not to mention, if there is something wrong, what is it? I'm worried about him. He is so upset. He doesn't want out. Any advice, prayers, or just hugs. Thanks

If it's sand and it happens a lot, they're going to discharge him for THAT?! You'd think if it happens so often, they'd know how to fix it, right? I'd google it and see what you can come up with to help him yourself. I don't trust doctors, especially not Military doctors.
My dh has severe stress fractures in his shins and he may have to be discharged for that as well. It's complete and total bull**** because his doctor has done absolutely nothing to figure out why that happens to him so he can prevent it. All he does is give him profile after profile. It always comes back once he starts running again.

He had a problem with his leg when he came back from deployment and they just kept giving him profiles and it never got fixed. ![]() I'll look it up online and see what I can find.

I can't find much online regarding this.
It pisses me off. DF said the medic probably isnt even going to look him over, he is just going to decided whether or not he is "fit for his job" and then if he gets medvac he will see a doctor eventually. If there is something wrong, I want to know what it is ASAP.
