Email from a soldier
Hello . . I am on another message board, for officers families while they are going through OCS, which I haven't been on for a while. This morning I got a private message on there from a soldier who is suffering from PTSD. He basically told me to be patient and let it be, that these guys just don't want to be pressed about the issue by people, even those close to them. He said that they really only want to talk about any of it with people who were there with them. He said some other things, but I don't want to reveal his personal conversation because it's his info to tell. I just thought it was great that someone like this reached out to me like that.

I've heard the same thing from many guys including my bf. I know well enough that when he gets back if he doesn't tell me about it, not to ask. But if he does start talking about an expierence, I need to listen. Honestly I don't expect to hear much though as he doesn't tell me too much about his first deployment as it is. Thats nice to hear a response from someone actually ecperiencing PTSD though.
