Quirks?

What are some quirks that you noticed about your man when he came home? Like for instance, my husband can't really sleep without waking up in the middle of the night, he got sick off of the food here, so he spent a whole day worshipping the toilet gods, lol, and he is still hyper vigilant when it comes to certains sounds. (Especially if sounds like a whistle,a long screech, or gusts of wind, mainly b/c its similar to mortars and rockets)I know all of these are very normal reactions, so I'm not worried about it. But I wanted to start a thread and share some of the things that I noticed. I thought it might help people feel less worried, or fearful of their mans' behavior post homecoming.

DH just got in from Iraq for R&R and it was weird for him to go over like 35mph because they are used to going so slow over there. I was like "honey, you are on the highway, you need to go faster!!" lol

Lol, yes. And we live in San Antonio where it's nothing but highway! lol. Honestly though girl, I just left him alone about it, I knew that he was doing what made him feel most comfortable. But, yeah, he drove like a granny for the first few days. lol

DB sleep talks a ton now. He also sleep bugs me. Like he woke up one night, sat up, and took all of the blankets off me then collapsed and continued sleeping. I was like wtf?

The first time he came home he did everything you mentioned and more. However, this time he's MUCH better but he gets mad easily.

Mine did the same as yours the first time around and had gotten it under control but i feel he may end up the same way once he comes back this time.

Not so much sounds bother him as rude people OMG he freaks at the rudeness of some people like at a fast food rest or something and he does get mad easier just putting it out there everything between us is fine thank God and I am so glad hes home now on my end it has been hard for me to hand the reins back to him I have done it so long on my own it just comes naturally to say No Honey I got it or My My My any advice?

when DB was home on R&R i noticed some things. first of all, fireworks are a no go. we went to disney and it never even occurred to me how much they sound like gunshots . he also was skiddish about driving over things (i.e. roadkill or anything someone could put an IED in). and forget crowds. large groups of people really really stressed him out. just hang in there and be supportive! they need us.

Mine has a hard time settling into the slower work schedule, food, sleeping longer than 4 hours a night, and remembering that I'm a woman and have feelings and the way he speaks to me needs to be a hell of a lot different than the way he speaks to his soldiers.
