Excessive Spending....
Is that normal?
We just bought a house a few weeks ago...and it needs some repairs here and there....well he just finished his deployment a few days ago and he called me from Germany telling me that he just bought a 52 inch lcd flat screen t.v. and sent it to the house lol. Now he's buying me a new underwear wardrobe from Victoria's Secret...eh okay that's really sweet of him but we got gutters to fix and floors to repair and furniture to buy to fill an empty house...LOL We already have a t.v. Does anyone else's man do this (or did this)? I understand he's been in the sandbox for 15 months so I just brush it off...but uhm... I'd like a head's up...he's just having fun with his money now lol

My husband was the opposite when he came home . . very tight with money. He actually thinks I spent all of HIS money while he was gone and that's a big issue with us. He doesn't realize we still had a mortgage, bills, 3 car payments, etc, while he was gone. The first time he was deployed he was single and didn't have many bills, so he came home with a TON of money saved up . . I think he was expecting the same this time around. He accuses me of going out and blowing like $20k on stuff, which is absurd because I didn't. I've ordered bank statements for the entire time he was gone to show him where our money went.
I can say though, that the first time he was deployed, once he got back and we started dating almost right when he got back . . he did spend money like it was nothing. He would take me away for the weekend to places like NYC and spend thousands of dollars without even flinching. |

Sooo Normal! DB bought a brand new car, we took a trip to Jamaica... etc... They've been saving lots of money while gone (well at least DB was bc I didn't use any of it since we're not married yet) and so he had LOTS to spend...he didn't blow it all but we did enjoy a lot of it!

I am not married to DB and he does that already... The first month we dated he spent about 3000.00 on me and if I say I want it he gets it. So I stopped saying I wanted it.. I want him not his money. SO I am not sure after deployment. I could only imagine.

I agree with the rest of the ladies. It is completely normal, when my husband came home, he didn't make a lot of huge purchases, but moreso a lot of random, weird small ones. Lol. Like basically he would go and buy things that he hadn't been able to buy for 15 months. Things like starbucks frappucinos, jack in the box jr bacon cheeseburgers, magazines, lol. I wouldn't worry too much about it. However, if it does continue for an extended period of time and it starts to affect your financial state, then you guys should definitely have a talk.
