Advice for making post-deployment less awkward/easier??
I'm not sure if it's been asked before... I looked but might have missed it.
![]() DB got home last week, but I haven't been able to see him yet. We're planning on me visiting him this weekend, and then taking a nice long road trip back to our hometown for Thanksgiving. So far we've only been able to IM each other, and it's been a little bit awkward. Is there anything that you all can suggest for me to make the process of readjusting to being around each other again easier? So far I've just been trying to be extra understanding about his schedule and stuff... Since it's the first time I've done this, I guess I'm just hoping I can benefit from someone else's experience on what not to do, what to do, etc.... TIA!

Lotsa talking, conversations, laughs - all those "quality time" fluffy things helped us out. We still had a lot of problems - ptsd and injury, etc, but we always were strong and forward when we were able to spend more "couple" time together without the sex to re-bond (for lack of a better word) with eachother.

Just take your time. Everything will happen in time. Just strike up a conversation. There will be awkward silences, but when those happened with me I would just look at my DH and start laughing and he would do the same.

You were a sell out, but you couldn't even do that right

I honestly think that the first few minutes of you actually being WITH him and seeing him, its going to make a huge difference. I hope you have a great time with him!
