I just found this article and it breaks down the survival skills that they are trained and how those survival skills affect relationships. This is worth reading all the way through! -Andrea

This is very good, I forwarded it my husband as well. I like the fact that is breaks down all of the survival skills and how it effects the relationships one by one. I also, love the fact that they don't sugarcoat anything. Thank you for posting this

Great article. I just wish it gave us some hints on what to do when facing those situations. Sure - get professional help is obvious. But often its not our decision to make whether they will get professional help, and it would be useful to have some guidance on how we can manage the interactions from our side. Otherwise, looking at that list, and seeing it in practice, all you're left with is to give up on him

This article is sobering. You often think of people sacrificing their bodies but not their mental health and equilibrium. I wish there were more hints on how to cope or success stories or something in the article. The person they were describing with the issues on that list, I assume, would be pretty resistant to therapy. Then what?
I also wish it mentioned different categories of servicemen and women. It does mention rank a bit, distinguishing between officers and soliders. But I wondered about reservists for example who get reintegrated into civilian life fairly quickly. And also about MPs. Those who go on in areas of law enforcement. How does the analysis change for them? Anyhow, thanks for the brainfood!
