my husband the surfer
DH has been back for about 4 months now. The begining was very bad lots of fights, but we pushed through that. Then we went through a phase of anything that we disargreed on would be a marriage ending argument
 . Things got bad, I didn't want to talk to him on the phone anymore because i'd rather just NOT FIGHT. He would blow up on me for EVERYTTHIING, but at the same time he knew what was going on. He just developed this temper from being deployed and it was really hurting our communication. So he decided to pick up a hobby. He started surfing on the weekends to relieve stress from work and relax, and let me tell you I feel like we are back to our old selves again. I feel like he is the guy I married. I can't remember the last time we got into an argument that was bad enough for me to just shut down and not want to talk. For those of you ladies who are having a hard time with short tempered men...maybe suggest a relaxing hobby or something that they can release anxiety. DH also likes scented candles now...lol. He says it calms him down after work. Aromatherapy...i guess. whatever works!

Sooo sooo true!! Ever since I have taken up surfing it has given me this incredible inner peace and everything just goes with the flow!
 I'm sooo sooo happy it helped your hubby!

I'm glad he found a hobby!
 They definitely help to refocus their frustration and negative attitude about things. It's funny because they know when they are not being themselves and the frustration they feel gets put on us somehow. But I'm glad you two are working everything out.  to you for sticking by him.

ya DF and I both surf and it is so peaceful it really gives you time to clear your mind. Everyone needs a hobby and mmmm scented candles DF loves them lol
