Early childhood/day-care/pre-school teachers and nannies!

This is a place for all of us that fell in love with young children! My passion is the 13-23 month age, but I love 'em all! I'm a day care worker When I'm out of school I want to work with the parents to make sure they know all their resources so they can be the best parents they're able to be!

i've worked at 2 different day cares so far, and i LOVE it!! right now i'm a SAHM, but i soooo enjoyed working with the kids. i ended up looping with my class, so i was with them from when they were 1 until they were about 2 and 1/2. i still go back and visit them all the time, and they practically maul me when i walk in the door.

but my second day at the last place i worked (my favorite), there was this very long carpet box, and one of the ends was coming off... i went to shove it back into place, not noticing the screw sticking out, and one of the little boys stuck his hand in right as i slammed it against the wall to get it to go back together. we had to call an ambulance and they ended up needing a screw gun to get it out of his finger. it was HORRIBLE, and i was pretty sure the parents (and the little boy!) were going to hate me forever. but they didn't, and they turned out to be my favorite family in the class.

Holy cow. Ouch. Glad it worked out though My babies still remember me..I've been gone 7 months and haven't found anything closer to home, so I'll be commuting 40 minutes. But it's worth it IMO

It's fun, isn't it? It can be tough, but I love it. It's not what I want to do forever, ie; once I have my own children, but it's fun for now

I'm a nanny. The oldest is 4 and he has autism, but is high functioning. The littlest is almost 10 months but that's a whole different issue.

Hello! I am a Nanny for a 3.5 year old boy and an 8 month old baby girl! I love my job but it can be extremely frustrating! I am just working as a nanny while I finish my bachelors degree (3 semesters to go!).... Does anyone work in WA by any chance? I am moving there in a few months and need some job prospects!

I've just started my own preschool music business. I've been a nanny for years but studied music at uni... what better way to see them experience new things than by getting them involved in the thing i love so much too.

It's so rewarding... but not very well paid just yet... lol.
