    What makes a camera good?

    Advertisements
Okay, so apparently my camera takes sucky quality pictures. I didn't think they were bad until I saw all the gorgeous photos posted here, so thanks everyone.

I'm going to get a new camera, thanks to some recently discovered matured bank bonds.

What kinds of things make a camera "good"? I just need something idiot proof (cause I'm one of those 'wtf is technology' people) that takes nice, good quality pics I can send the fam of little man growing up, and video. I don't know how many megapixies it should be (and yes I know that's the wrong word, I'm making fun of my lack of knowledge) or whatever the heck all those other numbers mean on camera descriptions.

My budget is $250. Let the information giving commence!

"Thank you so much. No matter what, nothing is possible without you behind the scenes bustin heads and takin names. Thank you again. Everything you have done for me means a lot and nothing has gone unnoticed. I love you so much and thank you for saying 'I do.'"

It really depends on the skill level of the person using the camera. Do you want something you can just pull out of your purse and take the picture and toss it back in the purse. Or do you want something that takes a little bit of setting up to make sure everything is right.

What kind of camera do you have?

I thought my camera took really crappy photos.... turns out... I just needed to read the manual.

    Saved me hundreds of $$$.

Just something I can whip out, snap a pic, and then put away. DS runs to much for me to do the whole turn this knob, adjust this setting, carry the 1, and voila. If I did that, he'd be in Mexico by the time I was ready to take the picture.

Apparently my pictures are "very pixilated"...is that an easy photoshop fix? I'm just a giant idiot on all things technology related, so I'm really just looking for an easy way to take decent pics.
