Tossing up between the Sony Alpha and Canon Rebel

    Advertisements
    Hey everyone!!
Well I went to the NEX and I'm tossing up about which camera to buy.
The Sony Alpha A290L 14.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens is $494 and the Canon Rebel XsI is $545. I'm not sure which one to go with, I'd like your opinions please!!!

I honestly don't like either of them.

Have you played with either camera? Like picked it up,etc? It might be a dumb question, but I'm asking it either way.

I did that when I was picking between my Nikon and Canon and even though people kept saying "GET THE CANON!!!1111111", I played with both cameras for like an hour and I kept going back to the Nikon -- the Canon just wasn't "me".

me too. However, in her price range, I would go with canon. The d3000 and d3100 don't have AF on the body and that means having to buy only AF-S lenses which is more expensive.

    I definitely prefer nikon though.

even though I'm not a canon fan at all, that is what I would go for. Sony just doesn't have the options for different lenses in the future.

sony used to make a fantastic point and shoot the LOOKED and functioned like a DSLR (sans lens changing ability) but after they made the move into full DSLRs they abandoned it.
