    Sam,
I know more than the average Joe, but I'm no expert. At the point and click level, I can probably answer your questions. I'm team Nikon... Fire away...

I have a Nikon D40 and love it, but I need a smaller point and shoot for when I go to parties and stuff where I dont wanna be lugging around my Nikon and lens... I love Nikons normally, but olympus has a sam-proof camera that DH and I have been looking into...

This is the one im looking into getting, just wanted some feedback!

That looks like a great camera. I can't attest for Olympus, but it looks good "on paper." I like the image stabilization feature, fast shutter and the big screen. 12 MP is more than you'll ever need, lol, but a great feature. Waterproof is the bomb, lol. 1080i movie recording is great! And the durn thing isn't even released yet! You mighta found a really good one!

Thanks Judi! DH has the older model and while its a pretty durable camera, I wasn't ecstatic over the picture quality. However the specs are a bit different and this one has more pixels and more zoom.

Sounds good then becuase with 12 MP, if you set it to fine, you will get a really high quality picture. That being said, as always, the bestest camera won't give good pics if the operator isn't skilled KWIM. I can say that because I have a really good camera but not the "maddest" skills as a shooter. I keep saying I'll take a class, but alas...
