I am not, but I just printed out a book from blurb.com and see that I really need to be. Blacks appear much brighter on my computer than they turn out in print. Which generally isn't a problem, but the book was pictures of our dog, and he is black, so I lost pretty much all of the detail of him in several pictures.

I need to research again sometime soon here.

I just do my calibration myself, which is a PITA right now because I don't have any ink for my printer. I will probably end up ordering some prints from the place I normally order from and using them, though.

How do you do it yourself??

I can't adjust anything on my monitor.

Really? Nothing? Not even in the menu? I have always done mine myself. There are calibration guides all over the place online.

I have used this for the black and white.
    Photo Friday: Monitor Calibration Tool

And I use a print for color.

I could be missing it somewhere but to my knowledge, no.

So far all I've done is ordered prints and compared and they came out pretty good. Id just like to do it the "real" way.

I should do it with a program, but honestly, I am too cheap. That's why I do it myself. I KNOW that it is off with this monitor though. I can tell. It is annoying the crap out of me, too.

No KIDDING! Those dang programs are TOO expensive! I do not feel like spending $300 on it.. even though I NEED to.
