    Not Eatting.

    Advertisements
My 3 year old great Pyrenees has stopped eatting. About 3 weeks ago I had to find another home for my other dog and cat due to our changing duty stations and the new base housing only allowing one pet. After that I started noticing she wasn't as active. She still gets really excited to go on walks but as time has worn on she is eatting less and less. Over the past 3 days she has stopped eatting completly. She is still drink water and acting normal otherwise. I mix her food (half dry half wet) and she has no interest in it. Normaly I would just load her up and take her to the vet but with DH being deployed it's hard for me to get my 2 young children and a 100lb dog to the vet. I don't have anyone to watch my kids hince the reason I haven't taken her in yet. I did change her food a few weeks ago too so I don't know if that could be it. Any advice would be great. Sorry this has turned out to be so long.
    Siggy under construction!!!

Sounds like your dog might be depressed.... change in environment... change in that he has no playmates anymore... change in food... hubby is gone... it's a lot for a dog to take in. Maybe go back to the old food. And try to get him to a dog park of some kind. He might just need the interaction!!

Give your vet a call to get some input. You might not have to take him in to gain some insight on what is going on, but pups can be depressed as well!!!
