Update on Teddy our Standard Poodle

    Advertisements
So, we've had Teddy 2 weeks now and he's pretty much settled in as part of our family. He's been pretty easy so far, thanks in part to the work the breeder did with him before he came to us. He's kennel trained and doesn't make a peep when he's in it. You say crate and he just walks in and lays down...a couple of times, I found him put in there by Eleanor, who is only 3. LOL. He's been ringing a bell on the door to go outside for about a week. He's incredibly gentle and just follows us around. In a way he doesn't totally act like a dog, which can be both good and bad. I was kind of hoping for a dog that would play fetch, but so far he hasn't shown a lot of interest in balls or frisbys. We have coaxed him into playing with a stick, so I'm hoping there's still "hope" for him He LOVES to run and goes nuts and jumps over sticks and branches in our backyard...I think he'd do great at agility. We've only heard him bark one time, and for the most part he doesn't make ANY noise. Anyway, here are some updated pics. He was 41.5 lbs at his vet appt on Tuesday. He goes in for his first formal grooming appointment next week!

He's SO good with the girls. He doesn't bite. He is soooo gentle, even when taking treats. I hope he'll get more into play eventually, but I guess I shouldn't complain. I had a golden as a teen and he was AMAZING, but had a whole different set of training issues
