    Jazzy is sick :( WWYD?

    Advertisements
My poor baby Jazzy has had diarrhea all day yesterday and so far today too. I called to vet last night and they told me to fast her overnight and then reintroduce food slowly. We have an appointment for Monday afternoon.
She seems fine, no changes in behavior and there's no blood in her poo. It is rather mucusy though and happening a lot. I'm worried she might get dehydrated....
the dilemma: there's a super nice pet hospital just a couple miles away. DH and I are debating taking her in sooner, but her regular vet seemed to think it was fine to wait til Monday.
    WWYD?

I think I would take her in, I don't like to play with dehydration. Diarrhea can dehydrate faster than you think is possible.

I would probably take her in. Cats can be fickle beings. Is she drinking? Mine had to get IV liquids a few times cause she dehydrated. It's no fun.

We took her in. Thanks ladies. They gave us some antibiotics and some special food. Nothing seems super wrong but she is down to 6.8lbs from 7.2 so she's lost some weight. If they antibiotics don't help in a few days we'll go back for fecal &blood work.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't come to that. Hope she feels better soon.

She seems totally fine now!! She hates the antibiotics but her tummy is fine now and she's very playful and cuddly. Only a few more days of medicine for her

I'm glad she's better And yeah, it was always a fight to get the antibiotics into my cat. They just do not like medicine.
