    Dog/Vet dilema

    Advertisements
I'm fairly certain my dog has a UTI

She does not appear to be in pain.

Typically, it takes About a week to get in with our usual vet. Are there any at home treatments I could try while waiting for that appointment, or should I find some place that can see her sooner?

Does anyone in Norfolk have a vet they would recommend? We're on our third here. I really like them, but they are closed on weekends and it takes a while to get in.

  2. No longer seeing where it goes, I'm in the driver's seat.

I'd try sooner you don't want it to hit her kidneys.

I would find somewhere to take pup sooner. Your vet should have a recommendation if they can't get you in.

Even being sick it takes a week to see someone? I'd call and try and get in. Has your dog every had a UTI before? Our dog used to have so many UTIs that I'm sure if we called the vet they would just write a script if he couldn't see Blaze that day and then make us come in for a follow up.

If you're ok with Virginia Beach, we would take our dog to Salem Veterinary Hospital on Lynnhaven. She was specifically treated for a UTI there, too. One so bad she was peeing blood.

ETA: forgot to add that they are open from 8-12 tomorrow, too.

Can you just bring in a urine sample without having an appointment?

    Thanks.
I ended up taking her to our old vet (who I like, but they are expensive and are a little pushy with the products)
