Jump for Joy We're getting MORE!!!

    Advertisements
My husband just contracted with our Suri Alpaca ranchers to get FIVE MORE pregnant females! They are being bred with one of their award winning herdsires. He has a 23.1 micron count. That means his fiber is like GOLD! LOL.

They will get the pick of the liter which is fine by us. We are hoping to get white or silver babies from them this time. I am so excited! Isn't he beautiful?!

I can't wait for your crias to arrive - they are some of the cutest baby animals ever.

Will you be having them at your property soon or will they be remaining on the other farm until the cria have come and they've taken their pick?

They will take the month to breed them and then bring them down here. Gestation is 11 months so it makes since that we will be feeding them and caring for them as they are ours now. Andretti (the white male) has his first date on Wed! LOL. He is "unproven" which means he's never bred before. So we will get his very first cria.

I KNOW RIGHT?! And even funnier, unless you do an ultrasound you have NO way of knowing if they are pregnant or not. The only way to find out is a "spit test". You take a male over to the female and she will either be really nice (that means she's open or not prego) or spit at the male like crazy to get him away, which means they're pregnant. LMAO. It cracks me up. One of our girls we got originally we don't think is pregnant anymore. They can lose the baby sometimes at around 16 weeks and you'll never know. They ranch has offered to re-breed her at no cost.
