Look what happened in DS's tank..............

Of course, given that this is their first pairing, I won't be surprised if this whole exercise is a total failure, but at least now he knows he has a pair in there (he has six angels total). Between the trumpet snails and the foot long pleco, they don't stand too much of a chance of defending them even if they don't eat the eggs themselves - so, if/when that happens, we'll be moving them to a spawning tank and they aren't too upset by the move to repeat the process.

That's exciting! I hope they do well if/when you move them!

My angle has layed eggs a few times now and nothing has come of it

Good luck though, hopefully they don't eat em.

I wouldn't hold too high of hopes with the first few tries. Usually they will eat their eggs the first few spawnings. Once you notice the fish's caring of the eggs cease or start to dimish I would transfer the fish away or put up a shield blocking them from the eggs.

    be cool.

Yeah - while this is DS's first spawn it is not our's -- we've been raising fish for years now (I started when I was 7 ). Like I said, this one is already written off as a practice run and they'll be set up in their own tank as soon as I get rid of the last batch of pleco juvies from DD's most recent spawn.
