    Sad Well . . . Poop.

We lost my 17 year old kitty in June, and almost immediately adopted a bonded pair. We got some screwy information about their ages . . . but we're sure they were kept in the shelter their whole lives (they were almost untouchable when they arrived) - they were supposed to be 4, but the vet thinks my little girl is probably closer to 7.

She's become my familiar, my shadow. She sleeps on top of me and is basically with me whenever I am home. She's a cuddle bug and just a beautiful little girl.

She was supposed to have teeth removed today, but the blood tests came back that she is in end-stage kidney failure.

She'll get special food, we're focusing on hydrating, I've ordered an essential fatty acids supplement, but I'm just sad.

She deserved years and years of love.

I'm trying not to borrow trouble, but I'm so bummed.

My cat we put down last year had kidney failure (not severe like it sounds like your little lady is :sadyes) and with proper medication, food, and hydration she lived a happy and healthy 4 years or so after her diagnosis.

Sorry to hear about your poor kitty. Hopefully you'll get time for lots and lots more cuddles
Put on your big girl panties and deal with it like a boss.

That's so sad. Give her as much love as you can for the time she has, she will never forget it.

Ohno! I'm so sorry. I hope she can live for a lot longer yet. My dad's cat lived for nearly 4 years with end-stage kidney failure through special dieting measures.

    - I am so sorry
The good news is that it has now been identified as an issue and you are taking all the right steps to try to mitigate the problem as much as possible to give her as long and as comfortable of a life as possible. So many and for you, the kitty and her bonded partner.

at least she found you to live out her days in love. Are they able to treat it like humans end stage kidney failure, like dialysis and/or transplant?
