seriously. she straight up attacked this other dog just now for no reason. i was so embarrassed and the other dog (a corgi) started yelping and crying. it was so sad.

she has never bit anyone or anything until a month ago (it has happened a couple times) and now she's so grumpy all the time. she'll be 10 years old next month and i've had her for 9 & 1/2 years.

can you train a 10 year old newly grumpy dog?

Maybe take her to the vet and make sure everything is okay in that area?

I dunno... Maybe she is in pain because of something and that is making her grumpy?

we just brought her to the vet right before we moved here because nevada has strict registration laws with animals and she checked out okay with her joints and what not.

at the vet? no.. its just around other dogs now. and me sometimes. she hates them all now. i've only let her "sniff" other dogs a few times and they ended in attacks and me apologizing profusely. it's so embarrassing.

and then at night when i get into bed i move her over so i can have room and she growls at me.

I wonder if it could be a climate change issue? Like the change is weather is bugging her and making her pissy? IDK I hope you are able to find answers though that is rough. I know my dog was like that when we first got him as he was adjusting maybe she is just adjusting to the newness of everything and just more on edge?

That's what I was thinking, maybe the change of environment triggered it?

My dog developed an intolerance for having other dogs "play" with him. He's fine being around them, but the second the touch him or try to play, he freaks out and pins them down. It's something I have to manage by making sure he's never in dog-social situations. Jax also used to growl when on the bed and I would inadvertently touch or brush up against him. That was corrected by not allowing him on the bed anymore.

I'm sorry... It sucks to see your dog go through changes like that. If he's been cleared for health problems, I'd chalk it up to grumpy old-dog syndrome and manage her surroundings.
