See you at the Rainbow Bridge, Molly

My mom told me that our family dog passed away on Saturday. She has stayed with my parents since I moved to live with DH. She had gone deaf in the last year, and had started to lose control of her bodily functions...so we knew that her death was coming, but one can never be prepared for it.

We had adopted Molly from the animal shelter 10 years ago, and she was 2-5 years old then, so she has been with us a lonnnnnnnnng time. She was the first dog I had ever heard howl. (I was practicing my clarinet at home and heard some strange noise, walked out into the living room and my mom was rolling in laughter because Molly was singin'.) Molly had the colors of our first family pet (Suzy), and the spots of the family pet (Patches) we had at the time when we adopted Molly. Molly was a dachshund/beagle mix, who had the piercing bark of the dachshund and lovvvvvvvvvvvved to bark and holler. Now, she had faked us out a few times before and we thought she was passing away, but she was an expert at faking injuries just to get more attention.

RIP, Molly. I'll see you again one day...

(One of my favorite pictures of Molly...she looks like a doggy Yoda.)

(I'm sorry if this is a jumbled mess, but I just found out about her passing tonight.)
