    Big Grin Dog names!

    Advertisements
So I'm in the process of adopting this sweet galga girl from Spain. She's on hold for us, and I just have to meet the representative here in Germany and then she will be on a transport from Spain in September. Anywho...I was thinking about naming her Zoe, but my mom made a good point that if I ever shorten it to Zo...it will sound like 'No' and confuse her. So I've come up with some other names and I'd really just like to see what are people's favorite. I don't know yet which I'm going to use. Her name right now is Lita which I don't want to keep. I might even wait till we meet her and know what she's like. But I'd love your opinion

I put other cause I really like lita! But of those names Lilly. I'm not a big fan of typical human names for dogs. Is it said leeta or lie-ta?

    Eliza, Eli (Ellie) for short

    Oooh she's beautiful!

After seeing the names you listed I just wanted to throw Laika in there too. First dog in space, and it's a female name that's kinda similar to what you were asking about. Out of the names you listed I really like Lita too.

I've never kept a dog's original name actually lol so I don't know if I would keep it. I just had a camper (i worked at a girl scout camp) named Lita, so I guess I have a slightly negative connotation with it lol. And she's about 3. Galgo's are spanish greyhounds but not really directly related to the normal English greyhound. In Spain they use them for hunting then dump them or kill them when the season is over. At this rescue they have so many dogs and they stay in paddocks. She may have just not been comfortable with the camera and standing alone like that. She seemed a little shy in some other pictures they've sent me as well.
back to the names...I think it's said Lee-ta. I like Lilly-which seemed to get good responses lol. I named my parents dog Charlotte (so human names for pets is normal for me lol) and we've already had a Lucy

Tojai-how would you say Laika? lie-ka or Lay-ka
