    Flea and tick

    Advertisements
We put the flea and tick stuff on lemon last night. I knew better. I know that most flea and tick meds are not good for basenjis, but it was the stuff the vet gave us. I thought it would be fine.

WELLL..... Lemon is bugging at her back side. She flipped out all night over it. We put a cone on her head to see if that would keep her from bugging at it, and she calmed down.

This morning, we took her cone off and she started flipping out. Whining and crying and screaming. There is noting I hate more than a basenji scream. I gave her a really good bath, with tons of shampoo and water. NOw I guess we see if that fixes her issues. I just can't win

What Flea & Tick meds did you use? Sometimes that can be the culprit. We gave Razor Advantix 1x....and he got sick. So we bathed him just like you did Lemon and he started feeling better.

I hope Lemon feels better soon!

What brand did you use? FWIW, any dog can have a reaction to any product you use, simply being from a vet does not mean it won't cause a reaction in your pet.

They just have really sensitive skin. We had been using a natural one, that made her smell like the spice cupboard

Guess it's back to spicy dogs lol

Oh, I did call the medical line on the back of the box, andthey said to wash her with blue dawn. Her poor fur is going to hate me after this

    Sentury? Maybe?

It's a breed thing though. My father in law is going to yell since they have always used cat flea and tick for the basenjis they bred and showed. I just hate using cat meds on my dog.
