    Frontline Failing?

    Advertisements
So we deal with fleas but most importantly is our issue with ticks. We up the dogs doses during tick months and usually we havent had an issue. For whatever reason its not working this year. An engorged tick fell dead off of Cash and I still burned him (the tick) and tonight Addie was out running and so far 2 live ticks have crawled off of her, to which I again burned because thats the only way to kill them?? I dont understand why the Frontline is not working on the ticks this year :/

Is there any product that works best for ticks? I fear live ticks coming off of them and spreading disease to us and of course my dogs.

Is it possible that they had not bitten yet?

ETA: I really have no clue how it works, We use some herbal one that seemed to work really well for our basenji

could be, she was outside running around before bed... I just wish there was something that worked faster or prevented them from getting on her and not dying within say 30 minutes?

Frontline has stopped working as effectively... at least in our area the fleas and ticks have developed a resistance. Try a different flea med? Maybe Vectra 3D or Advantix?

A lot of insects are starting to become resistant to Frontline. My vet has recommended using Revolution, which works on fleas and ticks and is currently more effective in areas of high resistance.

I use an herbal remedy as well. It's Earthanimal natural flea and tick powder. If you google Earthanimal it should come up. Never had any flea or tick problems since I started using it 3 years ago.
