its a microchip that gets put into the animals neck so that if the animal gets lost they can find its owner in a data base.

We have it in our dog and its great...if anything happends to him they will still be able to get him back to us. I think its better than a tag around his neck thats for sure

It is injected by a shot so no surgery required. And it can be done for almost any animal. You register your pet with a service who has your contact info so in case your pet gets lost and someone finds it they will contact you. The chip can be identified by a lil scanner and it doesn't hurt the pets

Iris has it in her ear I think. It's kind of cool, but it makes me think of "the mark of the beast" Like scary robot devil dogs or something. I know I'm weird.

Some dogs have ear tattoos also. Mine are all microchipped, well with the exception of the new pups.

Before we brought ours home on Sat, she was Microchipped. It was injected between her shoulder blades. It remined me of a really tiny Glow Stick, That's what it looked like anyway! They take this scanner thing to look for it. Kind of like the hand held metal detectors they use in the Airports and Court Houses. Pretty neat!
