    anyone know?

    Advertisements
i was watching animal planet's "the most extreme" yesturday, and it was "the most extreme dogs" and there was one that reminded me of a great pyrenees (sp?) it's a large white dog that lives with flocks of sheep. it considers the flock it's pack, and therefore protects it from preditors. and i'd never heard of this dog. and now i can't for the life of me remember what it is. anyone know?

Did it say that on the website? I wonder why it wouldn't be. Looks like a very pretty dog!

It looks very pretty..but the site strongly recommends against getting one for a pet. It only recommends getting them for what they are made for, guarding livestock. They are not AKC recognized probably because they are fairly new to this country. (I know 1970 seems like a LONG time, but it's not) and there may not be enough of them to be AKC recognized yet, I think they have to have a third generation pedigree to allow them to even be considered for recognition because they are foreign. There are alot of other factors the AKC takes into consideration before they allow a dog to be recognized.
