New Baby

I stopped by Petco today to pick up some meds for Nismo because he has been sick the past week and a half and has not been eating.
Well I always go by the cages where they have the small critters like hamsters and guinea pigs to make sure they look healthy and are ok. I hate that they sell pets, but if I MUST go in there, I always go by and make sure they are being treated humanley. Anyway, they had two small cages to the side that had some hamsters that had been returned so they had them up for adoption as opposed to for sale. Well in one of the cages was a TEENY TINY little hamster girl. She is about 1 month old and so skiddish and scared. As I tried to pick her up she was screeching like a banshee, she pooped all over me and I fell in love with her . Poor thing really looked like she needed some love and care and a home who would really care for her and treat her lovingly and carefully like she needed to be treated. I mean not even the Petco guy knew how to handle her or pick her up . And as she ate her poop, because that is what a lot of rodents do including guinea pigs he says 'ewww she's eating her poop'...oy idiot . Anyway, I just couldn't leave her there, I picked her up and I didn't put her back down, she is so tiny she fits in a little ball in the middle of my palm. I took her home . So now I have a new baby in my house, her name is Bella. She is so active! When I put her in her new cage she was going around all over the place, she was even climbing to the top of the cage , LOL what a nutjob . She got fresh water and veggies and hamster food. I'll take pics of her later, she made a little cuddle spot for herself under her wheel and she's napping now

awww...you know I've never been a rodent person...they're too small for me, I'm scared I'll hurt em'...I'm the same way with fish too...cant wait to see pics Renee!!!
