Hives?

So I've taken my dog to the vet for these bumps he gets on his back. They aren't infected and just lift up his hair. The vet just told me to give him benadryl and it was no big deal. She said it was an allergic reaction to something (probably outside) and that it would go away with cold weather. The past few days he has a TON more. They don't bother him at all but it just seems weird to me? Or I am just being over paranoid? lol
