My puppy has Stopped Walking!!
So my 15 week old puppy has refused to walk now. When we first got him he pulled and we have almost taught him to heel. But now he refuses to walk when we go outside. When I take him the the Dock(near the beach) he'll walk. Any advice or suggestions?
I have tried enticing him w/treats and have him chase me... but nothing keeps him going. we'll walk maybe 5 yards and he'll stop, when I turn around he stops right in front of the house. One of many reasons Igot a dog was so I would go walking/joggin! Be more active lol

What kind of dog is it? Will he walk without a leash?

he's a dogo argeninto. No he can not walk w/out a leash lol Right now I have him on a regular flat collar. I bought him a nose collar, but I can't seem to keep it on him b/c he really wont move w/it on. and I think he's too young for a prong collar.

From what I've read about the breed, perhaps he doesn't see you as a dominate leader. I would suggest a trainer to help you display dominate pack mentality. This breed needs a firm and constant, yet loving hand.

I know all about the breed, and yes he tests me every day to show dominance and yes we have a trainer. The new trainer is coming over tomorrow to help w/the walking issue. My previous trainer wanted to put him on a prong and I said good bye to her, so I have a new one coming. We set a lot of boundries and rules with him. He listens very well so it's not like he's controling us, we control him.

he's good in the house, but I can tell when he needs stimulation. We do some training in the house, but he gets board fast. So I try and take him for a walk. I just took him to the Dock and he walks there most the time, but around the neighborhood he refuses.

I had that problem with our golden mix we had a couple of years ago. She did it for a long while and it was because she was really unsure. Eventually she started walking and loved it.
