You want to buy tranquilizers and do it yourself? That would scare the crap out of me, i couldn't do that at all!

The have a pill that you can give your dog for traveling and whatnot (my dog is BAD in cars)...it relaxes her so much that she knocks out. I can't remember what it's called...I can tell you tonight when I go home. It'll put your dog down and out so you can cut her nails...

My dog is the same way. She almost hung herself when she flipped out at the Vet and 3 big vets and assistants had to grab her and hold her down. I just walk her on the concrete alot so they file down.

You have to get it from the Vet. Go in and tell them you're going on a trip and the dog can't handle car rides. You've only had one thing that works and it's Acepromazine and you need a refill...

Depending on the dogs' size (mine is 40lbs), you give it a half hour beforehand and then she mellows out bigtime. She just lays down. I think it's 1mg per pound or so of dog. I had to give her a half pill just to mellow her (not knock her out completely) and she survived from NC to WI. It affects each dog differently but this is the ONLY sedative that worked for my girl.

What kind of dog is it? Big or Little. My mom's dog doesn't like her nails trimmed but she isn't violent either. I lay her on the couch and basicly rest my legs over her body.

it looks really funny but I'm not hurting her and she has to stay put. I'd take her into the vet to get the nails trimmed if I were you. They will be able to "man" handle your pet better and if she does become violent they have muzzles for that.

They might...I'm not sure how strict they are on it. Give it a shot!

We've tried everything with my pup and she's nasty when it comes to those nails.
