kitten found in engine today! - Pet Pad

Unbelievable! I work at an animal hosp and today we had a lady come in for vaccines for her dog. She mentioned she was hearing some strange noise from her engine that sounded like an animal (she is not a cat person). So I went out to her car and sure enough I heard it crying. She actually drove several miles on the freeway with it in there. Anyways, after prying the poor little thing out of the engine, she is actually in very good health. She was very dirty and after a bath we discovered she is a long haired lilac point. She is beautiful and expected to stay a few weeks to gain some weight back and grow up a bit more (she is only about 6 weeks old). Then I will adopt her out to a good home (unless anyone here in california is interested?? ) Just had to share the story!

Oooh I want another kitty so bad but I can't get one without DH and he's deployed for a few more months.

I hope the kitty finds a good home.

Thats how we got Raven. We thought a snake was eating a frog so we were gonna go check it out. Turns out it was a little black kitten. She rode 28 miles in the skid pan of an Izuzu Rodeo. Our neighbor had come from the sip yards earlier that day.

kitty sounds very cute!!

Yah kitties, and other small animals like to crawl into the engine while it's cooling down to stay warm. Both the kitten and the car owner are very lucky that you found her and got her out. Otherwise the results are pretty bad.

Lucky kitty!!

My cat, Charlie, got into my friend's car engine. In all honesty, you could not kill that cat!! He survived. SURVIVED!!

His face was all torn up from the fan belt but the vet patched him back together. Charlie also set himself on fire (leaned against a candle) and was run over - right across his middle! - by a car.

Indestructible cat.

However . . . get this. He was allergic. To cats! To HIMSELF!!!

Flipping goofy cat - he was awesome.

Can you post up a picture later on? I'd love to see the kitty and it may help with her getting adopted. I'd want her so bad but my DH is deployed and he'd be upset if I got another kitten without him and he missed out on it growing up. Where are you in CA anyway?
