    stop Licking?

    Advertisements
How can I break my dog from licking? Its so gross. I hate it when she licks my hands or feet or the kids hands. I always tell her no and push her face away but it doesn't work. I don't want to be always pulling my hands away from her. I feel I should be able to stand normally and not be licked. She licks other things too. Today I had to put her outside because she wouldn't stop licking the carpet. She licked a circle in it :nuts

She may have a toothache or something caught in her teeth.

My brother's dog is just like that. She gets so excited when she sees you and go lick your hands It really drives me crazy too! but that's just her way of greeting you.

sounds like she has a licking thing. My wiener is like that I cannot break him from licking me if he is near me. I've tried everything. I think its an obsessive disorder for some dogs ( you mentioned the carpet thing) does she lick other things obsessively?

    Some dogs do it compulsively.

Stormy does it sometimes but if I so NO and move away from her or push her face away she stops. If I see her go to lick the baby and I say no, she stops. She doens't do it much anymore though. She is learning.

She licks EVERYTHING. She'll sniff something, give it a lick and walk away. Its just my hands and feet that bother me. We've had her for 10 months now and thats the one habit I can't break. She'll stop if I tell her to but I'd like her to not do it in the first place. I've caught her eating cat poop several times. Thats all I can think of when shes licking stuff

Well if it makes you feel any better Stormy was the same way and just recently chilled out with it. She'll be 1 on the 10th of this month and we've had her since last July.
