    i can pick one type of pet (rodent, cat, dog, etc) and that's it and it's ours until it dies but criteria:
    i cannot pick an older animal that is at the end of the "average" lifespan for that breed (so example if the animals lifespan is 8-10 years i cannot buy a 9.5 or 10 year old animal). i've always wanted a kitten/cat since we had them growing up. i am scared to make the wrong choice of a pet lol

    With jennifer around I would pick a cat that is at least 2 years old. mainly because kittens can be feisty and that could lead to lots of scratches. but a slightly older cat that has been around kids might be a good choice.

    i like that they are a little more independent, don't need to be walked and such and right now i think that's a good idea since we've got dd running around and hopefully another on the way so a dog/puppy probably just isn't the right move right now as much as that breaks my heart.

    yeah definitely an older cat versus a kitten, i've still got a scar from a kitten scratch from 15 years ago lol

    I have 2 cats, and I can tell you that they are truly amazing creatures. They pretty much take care of themselves and at the same time take care of you. Mine always know when I'm upset...and even when I am not they are always up for some cuddling. They both sleep at the end of the bed OR ON ME at night.

    Now let me tell you that I also have a dog, and she is extremely high maintenance. I love her, but it's like having a toddler.

    I hope this helps. No matter what you adopt, you'll be giving an animal a loving home and that's what is important.
    I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed;
    they're spreading blankets on the beach.

    also go for a cat that has sleeker fur. the fluffier the fur the more hair that lands everywhere.
