Neutral so mari has a heart murmur...UPDATED first post.

i'm so upset. i'm taking her back in on friday for dropin care since they have to check out her rash again, and they are going to check out her murmur too.

i don't get it-she's over a year old, and no one ever noticed it before, though she goes to the vet regularly with our pet plan. the vet was a different one this time (we took them both in sunday for vaccines) and she actually looked concerned that no one had noticed before.

has anyone experienced this with a cat or dog before? mari is a cat, i might add. i'm really afraid something might be really wrong with her, the vet mentioned heart disease.

i really hope my baby is okay. i love her so much, and i don't know what sam or i or even vengeance would do without her.

    UPDATE:

the vet just called back after the ultrasound. he says he thinks she has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. he said her heart is definitely showing some thickening, and her pulse is fast. he said it wasn't the worst he'd ever seen, but it was worse then the normal HC patients he sees. radiology is going to look over the ultrasound and from there we are probably going to see a cardiac specialist to see what we can do.

she is my fucking baby. she's only a year old. she cuddles me every night, every night. now i'm worried about how long i'm going to have that with her. my heart is breaking. i love her so much.

this is her by the way:

Hopefully they can just keep an eye on her and she'll be alright. I'm sorry.

Did they say what grade the murmur is? Sometimes with kitties they can just develop one and live with it their whole life without it affecting them. Others can be a more serious problem but without doing a cardiac echo there's not much of a way to tell.
