    i have a question.

My dog got spayed on the 2nd of this month, and her incision seems to be healing normally, but today i noticed a lump by the incision on her left side? do you have any idea on what it could be?

    TIA

ps. i plan on taking her to the doctor sometime next week

It could be anything. Maybe if you took a picture of it, we'd be able to tell you a little more.

Maybe some of the fat is redistributing because she's a little too active? That could be a guess.

she is extremely active. all she does is run around all day and get into things she's not supposed to, which is an entirely different problem.

Does it feel spongy?? Sometimes when dogs get spayed they do have congealed blood and fluids that collect by the site that makes them look "lumpy". It will get reabsorbed by the body, but monitor her to see if it gets larger, changes in feel etc.

If it feels hard like a knot...then it's most likely her internal stitches. Sometimes they can make little lumps near the site especially on a very active dog where she may have pulled the incision site.

Most of the time it's not a major concern. Since she is active, eating, etc. and you are taking her in next week I would just monitor the spot until then and if you notice any major changes get her in sooner.
