From what I know they don't have the same issues that english bulldogs have like skin allergies etc.

the eng. bulldog tends to be gassier because of the pushed in muzzle. the am. bulldog is hyper but has regular face.

    Thanks ladies
I will check out that website Sarah

We are hoping to save one from going to the pound....waiting to hear back from an old highschool friend. It's not his dog, just one he is trying to help find a home for.

I did read somewhere that they are calm inside, but more outgoing when they are outside....hoping that is true

I have an Am Bull/ APBT mix...I am really not sure how much Am Bull is in him, but he does get a lot of skin allergies. Although skin allergies are common to APBT's so it might be that side of him. Gus is very hyper so as long as we walk him 2 times a day for about 30 minutes or more each, he is fine. He has no problems with digestion, and no breathing problems like English bulldogs.

    Awesome...thanks!
We do have a full acre in the back yard, so exercise will never be a problem.
Walking won't be a problem either....there are 3 of us who can walk the dog, so never a lack of warm bodies for that duty.

Don't want to get my hopes up yet ofcourse...still patiently waiting for an email on whether he still has the dog or not.
