Suspicious Chinchilla owners...I have a question...

When your chin-chin is running around the house, does he or she literally bounce off the walls?

When Dory runs and gets near a wall, he like side kicks it! He looks like a little pin ball! Its adorable...but I was wondering if it was a normal chinchilla trait.

Sand pit? Is this aside from his dust bath?

Oh yes! He loves his dust bath...which I give to him in a kitty litter pan, I'm not a fan of the enclosed bathing areas...

I've had him for a year, just don't know any other chinchilla owners who I could ask about his little side karate kick

    Best pets ever.

I only had one for a little bit. Believe it or not, a friend found him outside of our apartment building. They brought him to me because I was the resident animal rescuer lol. I did a ton of research so I could take care of him before I turned him over to the Chinchilla rescue (he was in need of a lot of medical care, chincillas weren't meant to live in the wild suburbs of MI).

    Oh my goodness

    Poor thing...

I was at a pet store one time...and I still kick myself to this day...a man was in there raving about his ferret and he said he had a chinchilla and he hated it, so he just leaves it in it's cage all day...I wish I just asked him if I could have the little guy...

I really love them...I can't imagine living without having one in my home. Dory is just an amazing little dude.
