    My poor cats!

    Advertisements
My cat and kitten were taken to the vet yesterday to get their shots. I don't think I'll ever be able to take them there again! Mao started hissing and swiping at everyone whilst Chevy tried his hardest to get into anything he could. The vet even asked if they're normally like this Now that they're home they're sulking. Mao's still hissing but from the corner of the room and she refuses to eat. Chevy's burning up, won't eat anything and moans every time anyone goes near him. I've never heard him make noises like that before. Dh let him sleep on our bed because he felt sorry for him and he didn't move all night - not like him at all! I don't think they're ever going to forgive us for this!

I used to be a vet tech and trust me, thats totally normal. I looked like an old scratching post by the end of the day.

Is it normal for them to still act strange a day after their shots?

Sometimes It can take a few days. How are they acting now? Are they just acting scared and lethargic? They will have the same vaccine reactions humans will.

Poor babies. Mine didn't forgive me either the last time I took them. A few days later, they were back to normal.

mari and vengeance hate the vet. vengeance curls up into my sleeve and hides his face, and so does mari. they are terrified of dogs, small or large. then when they get in the room i have to hold them. they have one together coming up.

i'm going to have to bring sam with me, to wrangle them.

Awww they sounds like Fuzzles. She always curls up and hides her face too. She's scared of dogs and going outside lol. As soon as we get home she's fine though. I'm worried about our move though. We took a trip up to Austin for a couple days and she would hardly eat or drink. This move to San Diego is going to be a huge change for her.

    Sorry about the thread jack.

My cat turns into devil kitty when we take him to the vet. His ears go back flat against his head, he growls and hisses and spits. He is NEVER like that at home. He just hates the vet. He will usually come home all pissed off at us and ignore us for a while but he get's over it.
