Need a good a good chew toy

    Advertisements
Ok...I have tried all different kinds of toys, bones, joints. rawhides and this pup (he's only a year) chews through them in NO time at all!?!?!

Anyone with any suggestions for a toy (I watched him chew through a treat holder to get to the treat inside of 10 minutes on a toy that's supposedly 'indestructable'), bones, or rawhides please! Would LOVE to know!!

He HAS to have something to chew. Not sure if they teeth past baby teeth like kids do with getting six year molars...but this pup is a CHEWER!!

Doggy teeth/jaws are designed to crush and destroy - I prefer using "natural" bones and figuring on having them be broken up/needing replaced. Have you used a KONG or rope?

My brother buys dog toys that are made out of fire hose material. Not sure what they're called... but that's the only thing that seems to slow him down! His dog can chew threw anything, it's nuts! Look for that.

I vote either kong rubber toys or rope toys. Those are the only things that last in my house

I'm buying cow bones, joints and such right now, along with rawhide. I know he will chew through them. I'd just like for them to last longer then a couple of hours

It was a kong toy (the kind you put treats inside) that he chewed through in no time flat! He happily brought it to me dropped it in my lap like. "No sweat, next?"

Kong balls and nyla bones are pretty good for my dog.
    Hopefully you find something good!

I had to buy the XL kong (the black one) for my 7 month old lab pup. He chewed through everything. I also bought a few thick rubber toys (Hartz makes a tire and a few balls...walmart I think). The rope toys are ok but mine shreds them and eats the pieces. I had to limit the amount of rawhides too. Mine eats them so fast that he doesn't digest and they...err...get stuck to say the least on their way out. And I'm talking the big 20" dinosaur rawhides!

I recommend big nylabones and kongs. Don't be afraid to buy the next 2 sizes up for your dog if he has jaws like that!
