Boxer owners who have had other breed dogs

    Advertisements
    A question.

Does your boxer tend to chew more than other dogs you have owned? We have a 8 month old boxer, and a 3 yr old apbt. The bully wasn't ever one to chew things. Our boxer on the other hand, has chew toys, but will steal the children's stuffed animals if given half a chance.

I do understand puppies need to chew, and should be given things that belong to them. She just seems to chew a lot more than any other dog we have ever had.

My puppy is half boxer, and she chews more than my mom's dachshunds did when they were puppies.
She has seriously done some bad damage to my house, rather than her toys.

Boxers are chewers and that is why they get destructive when they are bored. My Boxer ATE the wall in my house when she was a baby and I was in the shower...the entire wall had to be repaired. Since then, she has TONS of nyla bones, kongs, babies, etc to keep her busy. The damn dog has more toys than the kids did at her age. LOL

I have a silky and had a boxer. They both chewed things, but I just attributed the difference in damage to the vast difference in size.

We have a wide variety of toys for her, she prefers legos, power rangers, space men, and shoes.

This is the situation at my parents home. Jaxon, the boxer, is just a rawhide freak, besides that, he doesn't chew. The other two dogs, a mastiff mix and a pit bull mix live there too, Chewy lives by his name (the pit bull mix) and chews EVERYTHING! He can go through a fence like a freakin' woodchipper~!

I bought ham bones last night, I'm hoping that will work for now.
