i can't do it anymore - Pet Pad

this morning, my bird died in my arms. 2nd one this year. i don't know whats going on. i still have one, and now i'm so worried about her. and dh isn't even here for me. and these aren't just little birds. this one was a blue and gold macaw, and the other was a muluccan cockatoo. both were very young for birds. between 10 and 15. i just can't stop crying...

Is there an exotics vet around you? You could always go get the other one checked out. I'm so sorry you have to do this on your own.

i don't think there is, much less the fact that i would never be able to afford an exotics vet. which makes me feel even worse. i had to buy a damn coat, and now i'm broke. i should have never taken them from my parents

It's not your fault they got sick. This stuff happens and I'm sorry it had to happen to you.

I'm so sorry! I know exactly what you're going through, we have had ferrets for several years now, and went through a year when we lost three. We only have two left now, and now that we live in the middle of nowhere the vets aren't very knowledgeable & don't seem to care...

Even though they are "just animals", they are a part of your family and have a piece of your heart! The pain will ease with time.
